Celebrate Mother’s Day with Designer Gifts

Celebrate Mother’s Day with Designer Gifts

Mother’s Day offers an excellent opportunity to celebrate mum.

Here at Homecolours we think that offering designer gifts is a lovely way to ensure that mothers enjoy the special day.

The annual springtime event – also known as Mothering Sunday - has its roots in the church of England calendar. Occurring three Sundays before Easter Sunday, the day has various other traditions and dates in other parts of the world.

In the UK and Ireland the day has been observed since the 16th Century. It is often associated with the practise of people who had moved away from home and offered a chance to return to pay respects to their ‘mother church’ and family mother.

In USA and other parts of the world the day has no specific church associations and is celebrated in May.

Whichever way you plan to celebrate the day this year, the following are some lovely ideas to make the most of the occasion.

Gifting for Mother’s Day

Mums who love beautiful florals will be sure to appreciate the delightful display of the above Kinto Aqua Culture Vase. Superbly fashioned to show off flowers and plants to their very best, the striking vase is sure to make a memorable impression.

The hydroponic design offers two clear glass parts that allows plants to grow brilliantly. The top plate provides support for bulbs and plant growth, while the main body of the vase can be filled with water rather than soil to nourish growth. The vase can also be used as a regular flower vase for presentation.

Treasured photographic collection are wonderfully kept in order with the Printworks Little Moments, Big Memories album.

The album is designed to look just like a tadeonal hard back book and will sit perfectly in a book shelf. Containing plenty of space to reminisce over old photographs, the album is ideal for a Mother’s Day gift this year.

Anywhere is brightened up in style with the expertly finished and produced Tala x Farrow and Ball Portable Lamp. Attractively designed in Candlenut White, the lamp is a truly portable light source and can be used anywhere indoors or outdoors.

The strong combination of brass detailing and powder-coated aluminium provides a durable and great looking lamp for convenient use. Inspired by the classic lantern shape, and making great use of the latest tech, the lamp is a perfect pairing of the old and the new. It is a lovely way to highlight Mother’s Day in fantastic style.
